Automatic
Pagination and Creation of the Table of Contents
A tedious, time consuming, and error prone process is now performed in seconds.
After the forms are filled, the biographies completed, and the research plan finished,
the user opens the Table of Contents form (page 3) and enters, in the non-printing
fields provided, only the number of pages for each of the parts of the Research
Plan (everything not submitted on official NIH forms).
The Table of Contents is automatically filled, the page numbers will appear on
all the form pages, and the page numbering for the Research Plan appears on the
TOC where it can be manually transferred to the documents.
If a page is added or removed it is a simple matter to return to the TOC form
and make the correction. Everything is painlessly recalculated.
Modular grant applications that do not require budgets are accommodated. If
desired, the user can fill the budget pages to calculate the budget, but print
a modular application that omits the budget pages.
GrantForms database can use the same biographies and continuation pages among different grants.
Continuation
pages can be added any time to any page in the grant. GrantForms keeps track
of the continuation pages and pagination in the grant.
Save Complete Grant into one file
The entire grant can be saved into one file. All the necessary attachments can be saved into the Grant file for easier management and backup. Import/Export capabilities allow to use same biographies for several grants.
The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been working with the industry and the cryptographic community to develop an Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to replace the obsolete Data Encryption Standard (DES), which was introduced way back in 1977. To get a better picture of the security of AES encryption, here is what Mr. Schneier says about it in his 'Secrets & Lies' book, "Even a machine a billion times as fast as Deep Crack [today's one of the most advanced brute-force attack machine, which computes 90 billions keys per second!] would take a million years to try all 2x112 keys and recover the plain text; [and] over a thousand times longer for a 128-bit key. This will be secure for a millennium.".
You can find more information about the AES and the Rijndael algorithm at the following web sites:

XML is a markup language for documents containing structured information. Structured information contains both content (words, pictures, etc.) and some indication of what role that content plays . A markup language is a mechanism to identify structures in a document. The XML specification defines a standard way to add markup to documents.
XML allows any organization to read and understand the Grant data saved with GrantForms. It can be used for reporting, verification, organization.
